We are a funding body and advocate for artists and art educators within Northwest Florida.
The Visual Arts Association of Northwest Florida, Inc. (VAA) is a nonprofit charitable organization dedicated to advancing and enriching the visual arts throughout Northwest Florida. For more than 20 years, VAA has been a driving force in the local arts community—supporting art students, empowering educators, and championing local artists.
Through innovative fundraising initiatives, VAA provides meaningful financial support in the form of scholarships and grants. Since 1999, these efforts have helped create lasting, transformational change in community arts education. Every donation is 100% tax-deductible and goes directly toward funding art classroom resources, educational projects, and artist development opportunities.

Drawing on paper is the most economical and foundational art activity that provides a host of benefits for kids of all economic and social backgrounds.
A few known benefits are that drawing:
•Builds fine motor skills and neural connections.
•Enhances creative abilities and encourages imagination.
•Improves focus and concentration.
•Alleviates stress.
•Develops communication.
•Boosts self-esteem and confidence.
•Builds connection and community when shared with others.
Launched in February of 2024, with a distribution of 200 sketchbooks to a local school and a local grief therapy group, orders are now at 600 and the VAA is actively taking donations to print and distribute more. Let us know who in Northwest Florida could benefit from this project.
